Visual Medium

The next step to really get out my voice about social media is through a visual medium. Though I can use post my video anywhere online and on social media. However, without promotion to let people know about it, my rhetoric project would be like dropping a stone in the ocean and rarely would it make any response. The visual medium I want to choose is to becomes a speaker and talks about usage of social media across middle and highschool in America. I hope to stand infront of adolensecents, teens, and children because I want to talk to them personally and directly about the issue of it. I would hope that my program would be part of the Student development class 101 of the school. There would be a huge lectural hall of at least 200 people. I would have power point to give a presentation. I would talk about my personal experience of social media and my goal of making social media enviornment least harmful for teens and adolescents. However, this would be very impractical with my skills. First, I am not good at public speaking, I get nervous on presentations. Second, I don't have the money to travel around the country to give presentation. Third, it will be hard to make contact with schools to advocate and make plans for my involvement. However I do think this is still the most effective way to influence my audience. My audience are children, teens, and adolescents. There is no better way to get in touch with them through schools. And proper education should be a guide line to help them. I am also thinking of using social media themselves to promote about media literacy. Using hashtag and everyday post of simple task that help young people to use social media positively. I would also include my social media account for advocacy in my presentation.
