Visual Medium

I think one visual medium that would be impractical for my skill would be to create a documentary of what is it like to work behind the scene for YouTube and the businesses they work with. My project tried to convince people that there should be an algorithm created for cleaner content on social media platforms so that people of all ages can view the content. The documentary would be of an actor going undercover and working for YouTube just to see what really goes on behind the scenes. By making the documentary, it would shed light on what the business really tries to prioritize -do they really care for the content creators and their viewers or is do they just try to find more ways to gain more money? I think by creating this documentary, consumers who buy the businesses' products would be more aware of what is going on and where their money is really going. People who are more wary of inappropriate content would know if they are putting their money in the right places. This visual medium is impractical for my skill because I am not a videographer. I do not have the equipment necessary to film an undercover documentary. I also do not have actors at my disposal. On top of it all, I have no funds for any of this. To buy the equipment, it would be thousands of dollars, and to hire an actor would be hundreds of thousands of dollars. I am not capable of any of that. To have an impactful documentary that really moves the audience, how it is made and edited is essential to the process, and that is a skill I do not possess. I would have to hire videographers, editors, actors, and rent equipment. All of this is extremely expensive and not in my power to do.
