Assigned Blogs
Please remember to tag your blog posts with your name,
so that they are not overlooked when entered into the grade book.
Due 1-24 (250 words): Write a post introducing yourself to the class.
Due 1-31 (300 words):
Find a video on Youtube and include a link to it in
your post. Find an audio or visual design element in the video, and write about
its purpose, intended audience, or context.
Due 2-9 (400 words): Write about your most difficult assignment--what made it difficult, what did you do to manage that difficulty, and what did you learn from the experience?
Due 2-19 (400 words): Select the topic your Rhetoric Project will argue. Identify the issue, the action you are calling for, and some justification to why you're calling for that action.
Due 2-17 (N/A): Watch the videos provided by the Pius Library and answer the quiz by Saturday.
Due 2-23 (300 words): Listen to the rest of your table's MWA 1. Identify commonalities in the group--such as in the communities, the type of term selected, how they approached the assignment, or any other element that seems common among you.
Due 3-7 (300 words): Read Minor, Lee, and Catacchio. Write a response looking at what information networks these pieces are commenting on, why they failed, and how they might be strengthened against such failures.
Due 3-23 (400 words): Read Elbow and Chapter 3 of Changing Writing, then, write about what your writing process for MWA 2 was like in relation to Changing Writing.
Due 4-8 (250 words): Provide a progress report on the development of your Rhetoric Project. What have you completed so far and what do you still have to complete?
Due 4-20 (300 words): Read Chapter 9 of Changing Writing, then write about what surface and structural changes you might make to your Rhetoric Project, if that had been a requirement of the class.
Due 4-30 (400 words): Take a look at your Google or Facebook data as explained on this link (Apple maps here). Write a reflection on the experience: how much data is there on you, was this surprising, are you comfortable with this, and what digital footprint might you have that these links aren't showing?
Due 5-4 (300 words): Select a visual medium that would be impractical for your skill, resources, or ability, but might still be useful for advancing the aims of your Rhetoric Project. Describe what you'd do with the medium, why you'd use it, and why it wouldn't be a practical choice at this time.
