Visual Medium
After doing my rhetoric project and noticing that most of the time when we reach outside our boundaries, we can sometimes achieve our goals, but most of the time we fall short. I fell short doing my video, but its still important to keep reaching to new heights. When thinking about visual mediums that would be difficult to achieve, a few ideas came to mind. Since smartphone awareness is a technology issue, and there is so much technology out there in the world, there are so many possibilities. One visual medium that would be outside my physical reach would be to publish an article in a major technology magazine such as Wired, Psychology Today, or Popular Mechanics. It would probably take years to even get close to having an article posted in one of these magazines. Being published here would really get my message across to the most amount of people possible which is ideal, however this wouldn't be very realistic. Another idea I was thinking of would be starting a Youtube channel where I go around and interview people from different campuses and maybe even professionals in this area like psychologists and doctors who agree with me, and who would be willing to speak out on this issue. Either way, both of these ideas would require a ton of time and resources and money, none of which I really have right now. In order to make this work, I'd have to start dedicating the majority of my life right now to making this message take off. Something else I was thinking about would be to get bracelets that remind people to stop looking at their phones, and just hand them out on different college campuses, and maybe even get professors behind the movement. Smartphone awareness is something that I believe needs to be talked about more, so any of these things would be awesome for the cause.
