Visual Medium
If I had to dedicate my efforts of this rhetoric project to a static image to help convince more people to join my side, there are a number of different methods. I could distribute posters advertising for upcoming professional soccer games in the area such as St. Louis FC here, or MLS teams in other markets such as Orlando FC or Real Salt Lake. That would be helpful; unfortunately most advertising of that sort happens on TV. Also, I could put banner ads for soccer summer camps or (academy teams for kids looking to take the next step in their training) on the side of popular websites. This is by far the easiest method to reach the most specific audience for my goal. The main problem with that approach is the cost of buying numerous targeted ads is far too expensive for a student like me with very limited income. I would need a sponsor for my damn ads and that is a workload that I'm unwilling to endure for a project I have honestly lost my passion toward. I think my best solution, still outside of resource boundaries, would be a billboard campaign for a soccer league to expand to St. Louis. As a nation, the country is slowly gaining interest in soccer, but St. Louis doesn't have a team in any of the major national leagues. I hope the large nature of the billboard convinces people that this is a major issue, and St. Louis should be on the forefront of the national soccer movement.
