Minor, Lee, Catacchio

Minor: This author fabricated lies through a TV cartoons series called "Street Sharks". Minor based Street Sharks off of a well known show called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and was able to lure in a large audience. All Minor did was change the names of his characters and changed the setting so it did not match the well known show Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. After a little bit Minor started writing fake episode summaries and people would comment on them. Over all many people believed Minor even though all the information he put on the internet was fake.

Lee: The main point of Lee's article was how fake or false information on the internet can spread. Lee talked about the Boson bombing and how people tried to piece evidence on the internet together to find the bomber. Several people used internet pictures and videos to come up with the person who bombed Boston in 2013. Many people concluded that the bomber was a certain person even though they had no solid evidence that it was that person. These people ended up ruining the life of an innocent man because during that time people saw him as a terrorist even though he was innocent. The people based their claims that this man was guilty off of pictures and videos that could have been easily read wrong. The man falsely accused had to hide from the world because he couldn't risk going out into the world without being called a terrorist and being harassed.

Catacchio: Catacchio wrote about how false information can spread throughout the internet by the use of twitter and other social media platforms. On twitter many people feel the need to express their opinion and what their point of view is and this can lead to persuading people into believing them. Many tweets on twitter can be misleading and many people fall for the false tweets. By people believing in these false tweets it creates a conflict between the false information and the real facts.
