ch 9 & video changes

Read Chapter 9 of Changing Writing, then write about what surface and structural changes you might make to your Rhetoric Project, if that had been a requirement of the class.

The first part of chapter 9 was reviewing and revising your own project before sending it to others, which I felt went pretty well and I wouldn't change. This is more because I probably spent an hour breaking down my argument into what can be easily understood and with just enough information and statistics, but also another hour reordering the slides and videos presented in different ways to see which way flowed the best structurally. For surface level revising, I wish I added some transitions between slides but overall iMovie runs pretty smooth anyways so it wasn't super abrupt changes. I learned how to use iMovie for the first time with this project since my Mac is fairly new to me, and it did the jobs that I needed to I just wish I knew how to do more. My mom attended a workshop for her teaching job, so if I had more time I could have asked her for more tips and tricks, but overall it hit the marks I needed it to. Structurally, I sent my video to a few people before posting it to get more feedback but I wish I asked more people also because more feedback and approaches are always a good idea. I wish I had more time in my video to show and explain my graph that the obesity rate of children in France is about 20% lower than in America, because on the screen the numbers look small and it is not easy to see that the scale is different, so from far away the graphs look exactly the same or people don't get the chance to read it unless they pause the video. I could have taken the video multiple ways, and if I were to change the audience to government officials and school boards I would include more time for statistics and facts instead of explanations of the problem and videos on how students feel, appealing to the more pathos and logos side of my chosen audience of students and parents. Even though I could have taken another approach to the audience and style, I probably wouldn't have changed my structure from what I had planned.
