Rhetoric Project Changes

If I were to change my Rhetoric Project with Chapter Nine of Changing Writing in mind, I would first start with my plan. My original plan was pretty well-developed but I need to go back and revise it. I should have taken some time away from it to create "distance" and then gone back to it with fresh eyes.

Another planning aspect would incorporate developing skills with the Windows 10 photos app. The new photos app lets users create videos and edit them with unique tools. I definitely did not spend enough time playing around to discover all of the details of the app. If I were to change something about the making of the video, it would most likely have to do with how it was stitched together and edited using the photos app.

After the video was made, there were some additional changes that should have been made. A planned revision process would not only allow the editing process to flow smoothly, but it would also result in a higher-quality end product. Some structural changes include the overall design aspect. Qualities such as the sequence of the clips and the transitions between clips need work so that they make more sense and can clearly convey the message. Right now, they are more just a statement of ideas rather than a persuasive argument.

Some superficial changes also need to be made. I barely read over the text so I need to go back and check for any spelling or grammar errors. I also need to ensure that the text is appropriate and is worded correctly to supplement and emphasize the video.

The last thing I would do is seek criticism from peers. I felt like I did not receive enough feedback, so I need to be proactive and actively ask people. When I send my video out, I should also send specific questions about the quality and content of the video in relation to the purpose, the audience, the context, and the text.
