Chapter 9

Looking back on my video, there are definitely things that need to be changed in relation to chapter 9 Changing in Writing. For the surface change, I think I need improvements in my music. There is only 1 song that I used so it only conveys one kind of emotion. However, throughout my video, I meant to have many different emotions reached to the audience. So I think while the music I use goes well in the beginning but I should have added different music that is more appropriate for the rest. Another part that I would like to change is since my screenshots are based off from my real social media accounts, it contains information that might have violated the privacy of others. If there is more time, I should have blurred the parts that reveal private information. The structural part that I think I would change by making my video a more biased, sharp argument, where my standpoint is very serious. Because part of my intention is that social media use is a personal choice, so I made the video very relaxed and optimistic. However, if the video were grade on these requirements, I would definitely take some personality and style out of my video and put more facts and formal knowledge in it. The structural change would be that I have tried to put too much information and style in it and I should have just focused on one style. I started with the plotted screenshot, then statistics, then the sarcasm, and lastly the "happy moments." I think to break them up and only focus one type of storytelling technique will be more effective and leave a stronger impression on the audience. For example, if there is next time, I would focus on making my video with solely screenshots to make the video more coherent.
