When
thinking back on my Rhetoric project, there are changes that could have been
made both at the surface and structural level. At the surface level, I feel as
if my text was a bit repetitive when I did add it and it would have been more
convincing to add more word variety throughout the project. Going along with
this, I definitely should have added more explanation for the data that was
shown in the project to give the audience a better understanding of what they
were looking at rather than making them interpret the graph in twelve or
thirteen seconds. Another surface change that could have been made is adding
another song or choosing a song that people know and recognize because although
with my project it may not have made too much of a difference, there could have
been songs that fit the mood of the message being portrayed to the audience.
Some structural changes that I could have made is to give more of a flow into
the Youtube video that was added. The video is somewhat of a slide show with
movement as well, so it goes along with what I created; but if I created a
slide to set the scene for the audience of the mood switch that was about to happen
with the video then that could have been very effective. Structurally, the
graphs and data could have been portrayed as text then sourced at the end for
better clarity. I could have also added a voiceover for deeper explanation for
the audience. I do not feel as if the length of my project is an issue because
I did not want it to be too long to where the audience wouldn’t be interested. The
final thing that I could have change structurally is to add more actual videos
of people and examples of this issue effecting schools as well as people. This
could have been an interview or simply a cinematic shot portraying what
differences funding does.
