Hello! My name is Xiaoyue Liu, but you can just call me Wendy. Currently I am studying Physical Therapy with a minor in Visual Communication. I was born in Kunming, China. It's a very populated southern city. Kunming is very beautiful, filled with landmarks of history. I spent most of my childhood in China and I loved my hometown. I came to the United State in 2011. My first residence in the US was in Denver, Colorado. I live with my mother, stepfather and my cat. After graduating high school, I choose to come to SLU. I had a tough time deciding between SLU and University of Washington, my dream school for years. However, it was after the campus visit in April 2017 that I made up my mind. SLU felt like home. And that how I came to meet everybody here! I am so glad I made the decision to be here!
I loved painting at leisure. I regularly do art commissions for people, especially fanart that are made into merchandises. I self taught to use digital paint tools along with a group of internet friends. And today I am incorporating my skills with a minor in Visual Communication because I aim to be professional in the work I love. I also like music, photography, and films. I liked the vintage vibe and filters. I like to hang out with my friends when I have nothing to study over the weekends, be honest, even if I had to study, I would still try to spend time with them. Because with my parents 12 hours drive away from St. Louis, my friends are my dearest family here. With all the support, I look forward to continue to get to know myself through the years at SLU and though my community around me.
