My name is Bushra Ahmed. I was born in Erie, Pennsylvania and moved to St. Louis when I was two. Although I've lived in St. Louis for the past 17 years, this city is just as new to me as it is to any other newcomer. I live in a family of six and am the only daughter in the house. My parents and brothers were always protective of me and what I did, so leaving the house to hang out with friends was never easy. I went to a private school until my sophomore year in high school and moved to Parkway West High starting my junior year.
I always knew that I would come to SLU. I never gave it much thought. I knew that I wouldn't be leaving St. Louis, so that left me with very little choices as to what college I would attend here. Being that both of my older brothers graduated from here, coming to SLU just made sense.
I am majoring in Neuroscience and haven't decided on if I want to minor in anything yet. My future goal is to one day become a physician of some sort. What I want to be specifically, I'm still unsure.
