Hello, my name is Adrijane Bobaj, but I prefer to spell it as Adrijana. It is pronounced AYE-DREE-YAW-NAH. The odd spelling choice for my otherwise very basic name comes from my Albanian origin. My father is from Prizren, Kosovo and my mother is from Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Kosovo and Bosnia are very close to each other and have many similarities. I am the daughter of immigrants. My parents began their journey in Saint Louis in the summer of 2000. I was a little over a year old with a younger and older sister. It took my parents quite some time to adjust to the vastly different way of life and country. Despite all of the hardships they faced, they worked hard and live comfortably.
I have chosen to pursue a career in nursing. My older sister is a nurse and I have shadowed her and various other professions many times. I originally wanted to study biology with a pre-medicine track but I quickly found out that that was not the career I would like to pursue. Once I finish my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing, I plan to further my education and become a Nurse Anesthetist.
On my free time, I love to read and spend time on my parent's farm. It's a great way to get away from the world around you and to just take everything in and self-reflect. I also love to travel and find new places to explore and discover.
Adrijana
